About me..

 Hey everyone,

I’m Rick. Currently teaching Electrical Fundamentals for the AME-M program at BCIT’s Aerospace Campus. Before stepping into the classroom, I spent 12 years on the tarmac with WestJet Airlines as an Aircraft Maintenance Engineer. The night shifts? Brutal. But what really got me was missing time with my family. That was the dealbreaker.

Teaching had always been in the back of my mind. I loved tutoring since high school, and I’d even hoped to become an instructor at WestJet someday. The chance never came, but life has a funny way of opening new doors. Now that I’m here, I can honestly say I found a path I’m just as passionate about, if not more.

On the personal side, I’ve got my hands full at home with three awesome kids (ages 9, 7, and 2). They keep me moving from dawn till... well, dawn again. When I do find a sliver of free time, I love to rock climb and play the piano. If you climb, hit me up. I’m always looking for belay buddies.

And because I like to keep life interesting, I also run a general contracting business, helping people renovate or repair their homes. So if your place needs a refresh, or a full rescue, don’t hesitate to reach out.

Thanks for reading, and looking forward to connecting!

—Rick
