While dramatic increased air traffic signals strong industry growth, it's creating ripple effects throughout the maintenance ecosystem(2). More aircraft in the skies means accelerated maintenance schedules, but this surge in demand is colliding with persistent supply chain challenges. For smaller maintenance operations, this creates a delicate balancing act between maintaining adequate parts inventory without tying up too much capital, especially when lead times are unpredictable and prices are volatile.   Hey everyone, I’m Rick. Currently teaching Electrical Fundamentals for the AME-M program at BCIT’s Aerospace Campus . Before stepping into the classroom, I spent 12 years on the tarmac with WestJet Airlines as an Aircraft Maintenance Engineer. The night shifts? Brutal. But what really got me was missing time with my family. That was the dealbreaker. Teaching had always been in the back of my mind. I loved tutoring since high school, and I’d even hoped to become an instructor at WestJet someday. The chance never came, but life has a funny way of opening new doors. Now that I’m here, I can honestly say I found a path I’m just as passionate about, if not more. On the personal side, I’ve got my hands full at home with three awesome kids (ages 9, 7, and 2).
